John Mbau Mwangi

As a young reporter, I covered Dr. Ouko many times while he was Minister for Foreign Affairs. He was "newswise" and a reliable source of news.  Once he called a Press Conference, newsrooms knew they would get a good story that would sell.  Unlike most of his cabinet colleagues of his time, he did not call the oress to just talk about "love, peace and unity"

Kenneth Okungu: WHO WILL FULFIL DR. R.J.OUKO'S DEVELOPMENT AGENDA IN KISUMU RURAL YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH?

Thogh I was young then, I reminscence the development initatives by the late Ouko with gratitude. The remnants of his sweat are seen as commendable stories continue to be told. He must had been a man kisumu rural will miss everlastingly. Several MPs have come and go and even the current regime is not better than any other before. Will our leaders consider keeping the Ouko's development banner in kisumu Rural burning.

Guest: Dr Ouko, Great Leader

Great leaders need to be honoured not only in life but also in death. As a Ugandan, i have followed the politics of Kenya and indeed Dr Ouko was the greatest of all post-independent leaders.A library is a brilliant way of remembering him and his contribution to the political life of Kenya.

Wandia: Excellent project!!!

The library proves that the greatest legacy that Dr. Ouko left is in two things: values and education. He raised his family to care about the community and to give something that can never be taken away - education. The library will change Kenya in the way we think about raising our families and about the public good. I thank God that I have lived to see Kenyans doing this.

Patrick Maina: Fallen Hero

This is truly a worthy cause indeed for a fallen Kenyan hero who I grew up watching as a young lad.  An eloquent & charismatic leader matched by few & liked by many. I thought about  promoting this cause & decided to see if it was on Facebook of which it wasn't.  I thought of creating a fan page or group in support of this cause but I didn't want to overstep my boundaries since i'm not an organizing member.  Facebook would be a good social network to promote this cause & raise to raise money as well. Remember Barrack Obama did it & was very successful.  Yes We Can!

mukami: Great idea noble project for a good man

Good men are rare to come by. I never met Dr Ouko but like any Kenyan who listened to him I was proud he was one of us. A library is a very great way to not only remember this good man, and good men are rare, but also a noble project to educate the masses. I will contribute to this project. Well done who ever is brains behind this.

Victor M.: Why I truly Loved Dr. Ouko Who I never Met

Dr. Ouko was a man who I truly cherished as a leader. I never met him or any of his family members. I only read and know what he did for Kenya. I was heart broken when he was killed. To date, I totally gave up on the Kenyan justice and I totally quit even reading news papers. If the people who had killed him did not get their due punishment for the crimes, I have little faith of the Kenyan system. However, I have total faith and believe on the Kenyan people and that is why I would love to see a Library built bearing Dr. Ouko's name. He was such a noble man. May God Bless you all that are involved in these efforts.

Guest: Beatrice Githua

A true Legendary, greatly admired for his Nation's best interest and one who left a lot to be desired.  The Library will illuminate nothing short of Dr Ouko's academic achievements, to say the least and thankfully it will facilitate others with a much needed opportunity for literacy.  Thank you for honoring him with this vision and I look forward to supporting indeed, such a worthy cause.

Bob Jalango: Ambassador

This memorial will remind current and future generations of the political and developmental role played by the late Dr. Robert J. Ouko in Kenya, regionally and internationally to promote a country he loved and died while serving. I was privileged to serve with him in Kenya's Parliament and was impressed by his keen interest in details concerning his Ministry and Kenya as a whole.

Let us join hands to support this worthy cause.

A great and worthy cause. Through  the Library, a great nation will learn of a great man who served Kenya selflessly.

The pain of illiteracy is going away. Great Job.

Guest: Carey Bwana

He was a great man and his memories will never die. I remember when he stopped by outside Agoro Sare in Oyugis in the early 80's and gave us a very inspiring speech. I was a student then at Agoro. His advice will stay with me forever.

Just before he met his untimely death at the hands of some jealous people, he amazed the foreign press in the US by answering questions spontenously and intelligently from the tip of his tongue.

This is a good cause and I will contribute.

OKOWA APAMO: MR

I met the late Dr. Ouko in 1988 at Kisumu DC"s office when I was a university student and we had gone to the DC's office because our boom was delayed. Dr. Ouko came with a group of KANU officials and when he addressed us, his theme was about corruption which was destroying the country. Taya wanted the best for his country but his country gave him the worst. Library a great idea and I will contribute

David Ndolo: Mr

The year was 1975; I was only 5 years old then. My dad, mum and I linked up with the late Dr Ouko at Muhoroni township in the present Nyando District where mum and I hitched a ride in the minister's limousine. We were dropped off in Nakuru as Daktari proceeded to the capital city, Nairobi. Come 1990, the year I joined the Strathmore College, this GREAT family friend of the Ndolo family was brutally yanked away from us. Kudos to the team behind the Dr JRO Memorial Community Library. I will donate whatever God enables me...Dave...

Joab Omondi: Mr

It's hard to understand why people are taken away from us, but find comfort in knowing Daktari was a special part of a well-lived life. Although we can say that time will soften the edges and ease our burden, our hearts still aches for you DAKTARI.  Your loss will really be like the hand of fortune leading many to better things when the library idea indeed becomes a reality.  I FULLY SUPPORT THIS NOBLE IDEA. Beyond the pain, opportunity awaits.
